Zaid can be seen in detention with Cleo, and quickly establishes himself as a "bad boy" punk that Khensu does not like.
The Thief and the Sword[]
Zaid can be seen attending the Winter Ball, and claims to be there for the punch only. He offers to take Cleo to "the oasis," a watering hole for Yasiro academy seniors. On the way there they are interrupted by Antony, who Cleo promptly chases to recover the sword he stole. Later, as Cleo is preparing to leave for Hykosis, alongside Khensu, Brian, and Akila, Zaid joins them, claiming He needs the "extra credit." However, he seems very excited to learn they are heading to Hykosis.
The Secret of the Time Tablets[]
When the team's ship is amushed by Octavian's fleet, Zaid use's the ship's cannon to fire on the Xerx fleet. This action provokes them to fire on and destroy their ship, and he escapes in a pod with Khensu. they arrive at Harkhebi's orphanage, and a small child says Zaid looks like a picture on the wall, where there are two photo's of Zaid's parents, Sadia and Ziyad, who were smugglers who smuggled food and resources for the orphanage. Harkhebi reveals this to Zaid, as well as how they gave their life to keep Octavian away from the orphanage. It is also revealed that Zaid was raised by his now-deceased uncle, and harkhebi expresses confidence that he will grow to be a Strong, responsible man, despite Khensu's doubts. Before leaving the orphanage, the child from before gives Zaid his father's photo, and Harkhebi tells him "there is more to heroism than whats written in scrolls." Shortly after, Octavian captures Zaid and Khensu, and uses them as bait for Cleo. when Cleo arrives, Alongside Akila and Antony, Zaid encourages her to shoot Octavian, which backfires, leading to Akila losing her arm. Later, He is lead into the Cave with Cleo, Octavian, and Khensu. and when Octavian tries to Kill Cleo with his powers, Zaid leaps into the way and is instantly killed by the blast.
